Intro:
The holidays are coming — and if you’re anything like most women I coach, you’re thinking “can we just slow down a minute?” Seriously, I can’t believe this weekend we are turning back the clocks- well at least we gain an hour back!
Tis the season for shorter days and holiday events to start filling up our calendars. It’s a time of great joy and connection, but it can also be full of sugar, stress, skipped meals, and starting over in January.
But what if this year could be different?
What if you could stay balanced, enjoy the celebrations, and still feel energized and confident — without deprivation or guilt?
The truth is: you can.
It all comes down to one word.
BALANCE
What “Balance” Actually Means
Balance doesn’t mean being perfect or skipping every dessert.
It means staying connected to your body — noticing how you feel, honoring your energy, and choosing nourishment that supports you most of the time.
It’s not all-or-nothing.
It’s all-about-awareness.
Real balance looks like:
✨ Having the glass of wine — and drinking water between each one.
✨ Enjoying the pumpkin pie — but pairing it with protein so your blood sugar stays stable.
✨ Saying yes to joy — and no to guilt.
3 Simple Ways to Stay Balanced Through the Holidays
- Don’t skip meals to “save up” for the big one.
This always backfires.
Eat protein + fiber at breakfast, have a nourishing lunch, and you’ll arrive at dinner grounded, not ravenous. - Walk after meals — even 10 minutes helps.
It’s one of the easiest ways to support digestion and balance your blood sugar naturally.
(Pro tip: make it a family walk — not a punishment!) - Hydrate + rest like it’s your job.
Dehydration and fatigue mimic hunger — and make cravings worse.
Drink water, prioritize sleep, and give yourself permission to slow down.
The Emotional Side of Balance
Let’s be honest — holiday stress isn’t just about food. It’s about expectations, comparison, and pressure to “do it all.” We simply put too much on our plates (no pun intended) and create more work and more stress.
But here’s the truth, beautiful: you don’t have to earn your joy. You don’t have to prove your worth through perfect meals or perfect choices.
Your body doesn’t need restriction — it needs rhythm. Your mind doesn’t need punishment — it needs peace.
My Favorite Mantra-Keep It Simple, Sweetie
If you remember one thing this season, let it be this:
Progress over perfection when it comes to your diet and lifestyle. Remember to prioritize what’s most important.
Presence over performance. Just focus on being present with those that you love.
And balance — real, flexible, grace-filled balance — will carry you further than any all-or-nothing plan ever could.
So ask yourself, how do you want this holiday season to look. Will you be travelling? Entertaining? What can you do to simplify the season and keep your balance?
